      Earth Day

Wednesday, April 22 is Earth Day. I like to save cardboard packing and make my own mini-albums. I also save clothing tags, popcycle sticks, and bottle caps to use on my layouts. I try to use my paper scraps from layouts for cards and tags. This not only reduces waste, but also saves money. What are you doing to reduce, reuse, and recycle? Leave a comment and let us know for a chance to win this month's scrap goodies.

      Have you tried Wordle???

Wordle is a fabulous site where you can enter random words and create a multitude of different word scrambles. It is SO fun and SO addicting. These would be great on layouts, cards, albums... This is a scramble I created. http://www.wordle.net/ Post a link to your project that includes a word scramble and you'll be entered in this month's drawing for scrap goodies. Enjoy!

      Create Your Own Spring Flowers...

One of my favorite things about Spring is the blooming of beautiful Spring flowers. The bright colors of the tulips and daffodils make me so happy. This tutorial will show you how to add a bit of Spring to your projects.

      1. Cut eight 2" circles using any 2-sided Spring patterned paper.

      2. Fold each side of the circle toward the center, as shown.

      3. Arrange circles into flower pattern and glue edges of folds to each other.

      4. Cut one 1/2" circle from different patterned paper and adhere to center.

      5. Cut decorative leaf free-hand or from stencil.

      6. Enjoy!

      Howdy!!!

      Super Springy April Sketch Challenge

Spring is in the air...daffodils, Easter eggs, and fluffy chicks. Join me in creating a Super Springy layout with this month's sketch for a chance to win some incredible scrap goodies.

To enter, create a layout based on this 12x12 sketch. Your entry can be any size you like and in any format (paper or digital). The challenge starts today and ends at midnight (EST) on April 30th. Post a comment here with a link to where you've uploaded your page (blog, online gallery, etc.) The winner will be announced May 1st.

The theme for this contest is "Spring is in the Air." You don't have to use the theme in your title, but your page should reflect something about Spring. Have fun with the sketch. I can't wait to see what you create!
