Submit with Scrapdango Kits

I rarely think of submitting to magazines before I make a layout. Sometimes after the fact I look through and see what calls might fit my page. For those of you that receive Scrapdango Kits, I thought it might be useful to compile a list of current call that would work with the August kits. That way you can jump right in with a plan in mind, and maybe get published! There is also a sketch challenge happening over at the Authentique blog. Get crackin' cause it's due Sept 14!

Most of the magazines right now are looking for Spring layouts. I think the yellows and blues of the Authentique would go perfect with Spring photos. The blue also works well for some of the Winter calls.

Call for Baby Layouts
Have you created a layout using baby photos of your niece, nephew, godchild, grandchild, or friend’s child? If so, we’d love to see how you scrapbooked photos of a baby that wasn’t your own. Send a scan or photo of your layout to editorial@creatingkeepsakes.com along with a complete list of supplies and any techniques you used on your layout by September 14, 2011.
Priority will be given to 2-page, multi photo layouts.

Calling All Sketch Artists
Creating Keepsakes wants to see your fresh, never-before-published pages about babies and family following this CK Sketch. Send us a scan or digital photo of your layout, along with a supply list and short description of any cool techniques you used to create it by Wednesday, September 14, 2011 to editorial@creatingkeepsakes.com with “CK Sketches” in the subject line. Please include your contact information, a complete list of supplies and details about the techniques you used on your layout in the body of the e-mail. Your page could be published in an upcoming issue!

Scrapbooks Etc - Due Sept 22

It may be back-to-school time, but we’re already thinking about spring! We’re searching for your best spring-y layouts and projects, from scrapbook pages about Easter, flowers, and playing outdoors to paper craft projects such as Easter baskets and DIY flowers.
To submit your pages, e-mail a scan or photograph of your layout to submissions@meredith.com by Thursday, September 22. Please type “Spring” in the subject line. Limit submissions to three per person, and keep attached files less than 500k.
