Challenge #6 ~ Multi Photos

I am guilty. I am guilty of using one photo on the majority of my layouts. I find I love to showcase that one special picture on my layouts.

I realized last week that I need to use more photos. Using more than one photo really helps to tell a story. Sometimes you take so may photos that it is hard to pick just one to use.

Here is a layout I did using my Sugar Kit for the month. It is a series of photos I took at a Children's Festival here in St Marys last year. Paige had never had a Sno Cone before and wanted to try one. Well... she really loved it. Who wouldn't?? They are so refreshing and a great way to cool down on a hot day!

Challenge #6: I would like to see you use 3 or more photos on your layout. Please email your creation to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot for the monthly blog draw. Put" Scrapdango Blog" in the subject line.
Due Date: March 31st
Draw Date: April 1st

Challenge #5 ~ Chipboard Tutorial

It's finally starting to feel a little like spring right now. I love to see the smiles on my children's faces as they run around and play outside. They have dragged their bikes out of the shed and brought their inline skates up from the basement. The energy they exude right now is just contagious.

The new Sugar Kit has that same kind of energy. It just screams... Spring!! I used my chipboard that was included with the kit and altered it for my page. I watned to share how I did it with you:
Gather up some supplies and play along:
Glimmer Mist in two colors (I used Lime Green and Bubblegum Pink)
Chipboard shape of your choice
Heat Gun
Tweezers
Craft Mat or waxy surface

1. Lightly spray your two colors on your craft mat or waxed surface. It is best to have some bubbles. If you get a blog, like I did with the green, just spread it out a little bit with the tip of your scissors or a toothpick.

2. Lightly press your chipboard in one color and dry with your heat gun.

3. Lightly press into the other color and dry with your heat gun.

4. Continue layering until you achieve a look that you are happy with. Make sure to dry between layers.

Now it is ready to adhere to you layout.

Challenge #5:
I would like to see you alter some chipboard. It doesn't have to be the same way as I did. Then, adhere it to your layout and email it to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot for this month's blog draw. Please put Scrapdango Blog in the subject line.

Challenge # 7 ~ Notebook

It is time for my next reveal and a challenge!!!

You have made a cute Post it Note Holder now I would like for you to make a Notebook. These papers are so pretty and elegant that I just had to make an altered journal. I bought a Composition Book for $1.99 and I grabbed my Crate Sugar Kit.

I cut the main paper to cover the front of the journal and adhered it. I then picked out one of the wonderful, glitter borders and adhered it along the left side to cover the "seam" to make it look prettier. I used my Chestnut Roan ink and inked the Maya Road letters and spelled out the word "Notes". Next I picked some of the cool Glitter Die Cuts and adhered them on the cover. I wanted the one flower to hang off the side a little. I love to do this!

Challenge:
I would like you to make a Notebook and email it to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca to receive another ballot for the Maya Mists Duo Pack. Yummy prize indeed!! Please put "Scrapdango Blog Challenge" in the subject line.

Due Date: January 31st
Draw Date: February 1st
**Check back tomorrow for another challenge and another kit reveal!!

Challenge #3 ~ Ad Challenge

One of my favorite challenges are Ad challenges. I actually find I need to put on my thinking cap for these. SO..... go and grab your thinking caps and get creative.

The following Ad came from a fashion magazine. You can really find inspiration everywhere!!

You can use the color scheme of Black and White with a splash of red. Or you can use the quote or even the basic design elements. Have fun and get creative!
For my sample I chose to use the quote. It just seemed to fit well with my layout.

Here is a fun layout I did using my Sugar Kit. I used Ranger Crackle Paint on the chipboard and then highlighted it with Liquid Pearl to give it a beautiful Sheen. Paige looks great in purple.

Please email your creations to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca and put Dango Challenge #3 in the subject line. You will earn a ballot for this months draw of some amazing Maya Mists!
Happy Scrapping!
