Challenge #7 ~ Easter Card

Here is a card I made for Easter using the Sugar Kit and the Sugar Kit Digital Add on. I used the Ranger Pearl Accents to highlight my For You Title. I apologize for the way the Pearl Flower center and the highlighted title seems distorted from the scan.

Challenge #6 ~ Multi Photos

I am guilty. I am guilty of using one photo on the majority of my layouts. I find I love to showcase that one special picture on my layouts.

I realized last week that I need to use more photos. Using more than one photo really helps to tell a story. Sometimes you take so may photos that it is hard to pick just one to use.

Here is a layout I did using my Sugar Kit for the month. It is a series of photos I took at a Children's Festival here in St Marys last year. Paige had never had a Sno Cone before and wanted to try one. Well... she really loved it. Who wouldn't?? They are so refreshing and a great way to cool down on a hot day!

Challenge #6: I would like to see you use 3 or more photos on your layout. Please email your creation to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot for the monthly blog draw. Put" Scrapdango Blog" in the subject line.

Challenge #5 ~ Chipboard Tutorial

It's finally starting to feel a little like spring right now. I love to see the smiles on my children's faces as they run around and play outside. They have dragged their bikes out of the shed and brought their inline skates up from the basement. The energy they exude right now is just contagious.

The new Sugar Kit has that same kind of energy. It just screams... Spring!! I used my chipboard that was included with the kit and altered it for my page. I watned to share how I did it with you:
Gather up some supplies and play along:
Glimmer Mist in two colors (I used Lime Green and Bubblegum Pink)
Chipboard shape of your choice
Heat Gun
Tweezers
Craft Mat or waxy surface

1. Lightly spray your two colors on your craft mat or waxed surface. It is best to have some bubbles. If you get a blog, like I did with the green, just spread it out a little bit with the tip of your scissors or a toothpick.

2. Lightly press your chipboard in one color and dry with your heat gun.

3. Lightly press into the other color and dry with your heat gun.

4. Continue layering until you achieve a look that you are happy with. Make sure to dry between layers.

Now it is ready to adhere to you layout.

Challenge #5:
I would like to see you alter some chipboard. It doesn't have to be the same way as I did. Then, adhere it to your layout and email it to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot for this month's blog draw. Please put Scrapdango Blog in the subject line.

Happr St Patrick's Day ~ Challenge #3

I hope everyone has fun with today's holiday. Any excuse to have some fun is a good one. When I think of St. Patrick's Day the first thing I think of is Green Beer. Yep... I do. I don't drink beer but it reminds me of all the guys in the bars wearing silly hats and drinking green beer. It always proved to be very entertaining.
Nothing symbolizes St Patrick's day like the color green!!

Challenge #3:
This is a no brainer challenge. I would like to see you create a layout or card that uses the color green on it. It doesn't have to be all green... I just want to see some green visible on your creation. You will earn a ballot for the monthly draw. I will post the prize this week.
Email it to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca and please put Scrapdango Blog in the subject line.

Challenge # 2 ~ Photo

I seem to always scrap photos of my girls. They are so esy to scrap because not only are they beautiful but they also provide such great topics as well. Life with them is an adventure.
I need to scrap some photos featuring other things. I decided to scrap a photo of my dear dog, Storm. He just turned 13 years old. He has a tumour that has been growing in his head for years now but hasn't affected him in any way yet. The only thing that is causing him any grief is the fact that he gets tired going up and down the stairs. He is so full of life still and gives me alot of love.
Here is a layout I created about him:

Challenge:

Scrap a photo or photo's that DO NOT feature a peson or people. It cna be an animals, a cup of tea or your favorite comfy chair.

Email your creation to thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot for this month's blog prize draw!! Please put Scrapdango Blog in the subject line.

Tip of the Week ~ Challenge #1

I have a great tip to share with you this week.

I have fallen in love with the Variety Pack Baseboard Tiles by Technique Tuesday. Have you seen them? They are white chipboard shapes that you can cover, ink, chalk and distress. They add instant charm and dimension to your page.

BUT….. I don’t use them for that purpose. I use them as templates!! I love the shapes of them and I have found that using them as templates is an affordable way to add interesting lines and elements to your pages. I find that the shaped papers that are all the rage right now are quite pricey! So I made a small investment in some Technique Tuesday Tiles and I am set.

Below are the borders. They are one of my favorites right now. I use them all the time right now.

Here is the layout I made using one of the templates:

I have made it easier on myself and used my Crop-a-dile to punch holes in the tiles. I then added a circle clip and hung them on my Clip-it-Up!! Great storage idea!

I also adore the Circles. I can’t bring myself to invest in a pricey circle cutter and I use these as templates as well. Then I just cut the shapes out with either my craft knife or my scissors!

If you happen to have a tip to share with us please email it to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca and put Dango Blog in the subject line. You will earn a ballot for the monthly draw.

Challenge #1: Create a layout using a template that you already have in your suppllies or one you have made. Email your creation to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca and put Dango Blog in the subject line.

February Blog Winner

I love this part. I had Emmy make up the ballots for me and we put them in a hat. I told her to run and brush her hair and grab the camera. She was way to excited to spend time brushing her hair and came rushing back with a hat. :)

She placed the ballots in the hat and swished the ballots around.

She reached in and pulled out the winning ballot. This month's winner of the amazing Basic Grey paper pack is...........................

CONGRATS Sue!!

Please send me your mailing address so that I can mail your prize to you.

I will start with a fresh challenge tomorrow.
